Ingrown toenails are a common, and painful condition resulting from cutting nails too short or you have a genetic pre-disposition. Typical cases can begin with minor discomfort along the side of affected toe or toes. Symptoms can rapidly worsen, where signs of infection and inflammation.
Some cases may be treatable without surgery, where simple clipping of the offending nail may be enough. More sever cases will however require surgical intervention.
Nail surgery offers permanent relief from ingrowing toenails, where conservative efforts are deemed inadequate. The procedure should take no longer than an hour and completely pain-free once local anaesthetic is introduced. Leading up to surgery, you will be briefed on pre-surgery preparation and what to expect after the procedure. Total healing time can last anywhere between 3-4 weeks, assuming you have good general health.
Following your successful procedure, a series of post-operative guidelines will be issued. Your surgery will also include up to 3 follow-up appointments, where we ensure successful healing and resolution.
