Foot Pain & GAIT Management
Biomechanics refers to the branch of podiatry focusing on the correction the foot and ankle alignment, in correlation to how we walk and stand. A typical biomechanical assessment includes a thorough examination of your lower limbs, including both non-weight bearing and weight bearing tests.
Your GAIT cycle is a sequence of events during locomotion in which one foot makes contact with the ground, and is completed when that same foot again contacts the ground. These of events include heel strike, mid-stance and toe-off, and are studied amongst numerous planes of movement, pin-pointing any abnormalities relating to your existing and potential problems.
